The Powassan Eagles experienced quite a range of emotions following a blowout loss to the Temiscaming Titans and a dominant victory over the Bobcaygeon Bucks this past weekend. A 9-2 defeat at the hands of the Titans followed by 10-7 victory over the Bucks has Powassan sitting at the .500 level through the early part of the season.

Powassan played host to the always strong Temiscaming Titans squad this weekend. The Titans have been to the Russell Cup finals each of the past two seasons and have retained much of their core roster into this season. As mentioned, the Eagles dropped this one 9-2. Patrick O'Grady and Jakub Pejsa scored the only goals for Powassan.

The next night the Bobcaygeon Bucks came to Powassan where the Eagles were looking for a much stronger performance. The entire squad came out strong earning the victory 10-7 in the high scoring affair.  Dryden Sollman led the way with a hat trick, supported by Anthony Trozzo's three point performance (2g, 1a). Other Eagles goal scorers included: Smid (2), Klempa, Kaneko and Gauvreau.

Next weekend features a home-and-home series with the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks. On Friday (Sep. 27) the Eagles will be in Sturgeon Falls, but will return home for a Saturday (Sep. 28) home game. Puck drop on Sunday is 7:30PM.
