Islanders On Three Game Win Streak

Nov 24, 2013

The Parry Sound Islanders have done a complete 180 degree turn around on the 2014-2015 GMHL campaign. A three game win-streak saw the Islanders defeat Bracebridge, Cambridge and Sturgeon Falls through the past week of play.

What was the most impressive statement through the past week was the dominating ways Parry Sound took down teams.

The Islanders reigned supreme over the Cambridge Bears 6-5 in exciting overtime action during this weekend's road game. In the shootout, Darcy Robinson played hero for the Northern squad. Having a huge game in goal was Tanner Emerson who made 27 saves. Goal scorers in the match included: Cukr, Teska, Choc, Robinson, Leavh and Presheva.

The Islanders made it two wins in two nights, dominating the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks 8-2 in the pivotal Northern match-up. Frankie McClendon had an outstanding game being named the game's first star after a 41 save performance. Jaroslav Janeba had a three point game to be the games third star.

The rolling Islanders squad will look to make it four in a row this Saturday hosting the Almaguin Spartands. Puck drop is 8:15pm at Bobby Orr Arena.
