Three Islanders to pro

June 5, 2015

After the inaugural season for the Parry Sound Islanders, many players from the 2014-2015 roster have taken the step to the next level in their hockey careers. Three players: Filip Brezka, Jaroslav Janeba, and Enver Preseva have all taken the step to the professional level.

Filip Brezka was a stand out defenseman for the Islanders and true offensive threat from the back end all season long. Now he will be taking his talents to the Federal Hockey League next season for the Berkshire Battalion where he will be attending training camp in the fall. Brezka has already experienced the next level as he was invited to skate with the Battalion upon the conclusion of his season with the Islanders.

Jaroslav Janeba was a true two way player for the Islanders last season, starting out as a forward and being converted to defense where he became arguably one of the top players in the GMHL. Janeba will be heading to the Berkshire Battalion FHL to play professional hockey next season after playing two seasons in the GMHL.

Enver Preseva was a top contributor to the Parry Sound offense all season long and will now take his high intensity and speed on the ice to the pro level with the Berkshire Battalion. Joining teammate Filip Brezka, Preseva will be expected to contribute immediately at the FHL level and kick start his professional career.

The Islanders staff would like to congratulate all three players on their accomplishments and wish them the best of luck in the future!
