Islanders Sign Krotz & Smith

June 11, 2015

The Parry Sound Islanders are pleased to announce the signing of forward Wesley Krotz. Krotz is a 1995 born forward and hails from a rare hockey background, growing up playing in South Africa and most recently representing his country at the highest level in the World Championships. Wesley has a strong skating ability and can be a dominate forward at the GMHL level. He most recently played with the Cape Town Penguins and had 4 points in 5 games in the world championship representing South Africa. We are very excited to welcome him to the team!

The organization is also happy to announce the signing the another Australian player, Cameron Smith. Cameron comes to the Islanders from Sydney, Australia where he plays in the Australian Ice Hockey League for the Sydney Ice Dogs which is the top level of semi professional hockey down under.  A smaller stature forward he sees the ice well and will be a great puck moving asset to the team who posses the talent to be an offensive force in the GMHL. He has proven himself at the Junior and now Semi Pro levels in Australia which is what put him on our team radar in terms of scouting. He will fit well into the hard working, blue collar hockey that our club plays. The management is extremely excited to see Cameron in an Islanders uniform in the fall!

Season tickets are now on sale and can be ordered directly online at The club is also looking for one more billet family; Anyone interesting in billeting a Islanders player this season can email
