The Parry Sound Islanders are just 4 victories away from claiming the Russell Cup. After a Game #7 victory in New Tecumseth, the Islanders can taste a championship and are one of two teams that will leave with rings on their fingers.

After jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the North Divisional Finals, the favoured New Tec Civics refused to roll over, climbing back to a 3-3 series tie and forcing a game #7.

Parry Sound came away with a 4-1 victory to win the North Division Title and advance to the Russell Cup FInals.

It is now down to the Parry Sound Islanders and the Niagara Whalers to see who will claim the championship.

The Whalers have yet to drop a game, sweeping the first three rounds and winning the South. The Whalers claimed the John Klink first place award.

Jan Vyoral continues to be the best Islanders on the club, scoring 20 points in 14 playoff games. Tanner Fausnaugh and Filip Grancarov have split goaltending duties and have put the team in a position for a Championship.

It is a Best of Seven series in the finals.
