The Powassan Eagles are starting the 2013/14 season in the right direction. In the season opener versus the Shelburne Red Wings last Saturday, the Eagles defeated Shelburne 4-3.

Veteran goaltender Vlastimil Hak got the start in goal and turned away 27 shots earning third star of the game honours. Goals for Powassan were scored by O'Grady, Kuchta, Sollman with the game-winner coming from returning forward Jakub Pejsa. The game was a clean, fast game between the European in fluxed squads. The Eagles outshot the Red Wings 37 to 30.

Also of note, this was recently hired Head Coach Scott Colosimo's first 'W' behind the Eagles bench!

Next weekend Powassan will take to the road and play the Expansion Halton Ravens. The Ravens have struggled through the early part of the season, losing their first two match-ups. The Eagles will return for a two game home-stand in two weekends time. Stay tuned to www.powassaneagles.com for more information!
