Huge Win to Open 2017

Jan 9, 2017

The Parry Sound Islanders defeated the South Muskoka Shield in a tight 6-4 battle to open the 2017 season. The Islanders now are in the final quarter of the season, with a 2nd place 26-4-1 record heading down the stretch.

The Islanders were the better team, up 6-2 in the third period before two late power play goals brought the score within two. It was a great confidence building game for the boys in Orange and White.

Underrated forward Milan Prusek was the 1st star of the game, leading the way for the Islanders. Prusek had four points including 2 goals.   Halazs, Vyoral, Mach and Linna also found the back of the net.

Next up is a road game against the Orangeville Ice Crushers on Wedneday evening.
