Jets Fly Past Eagles

Dec 01 , 2013

The Powassan Eagles have performed exceptionally well since newly hired Brandon Contratto stepped behind the bench. However, yesterday evening brought the Eagles back from their honey moon when the Toronto Blue Ice Jets soared by them in a 11-1 victory.

It was a humbling game to the Eagles club; the worst result of the season.

Togo Kaneko continues to be the club's leading scorer with 30 points (12-18-30) in just 22 games and is starting to garner interest from clubs around the league and at higher levels as a offensive force. Jan Smid leads in the goal department with an impressive 16 goals and 25 total points on the season.

The game in Toronto was the second of a five game road trip the Eagles are currently on. Next weekend features games against a couple of northern rivals with Temiscaming on Friday and the revamped Lumberjacks on Saturday. All of the updates will be posted to www.powassaneagles.com, stay tuned!
