Eagles Fall Short Against Bulls

The Powassan Eagles played one of their strongest games of the season yesterday (Oct. 19) against the Bradford Bulls. Bradford entered the game with a record of 9-0-, with the highest winning percentage in the GMHL. Powassan gave them all they could handle, but lost the match 2-1 final.

Goaltender Vlastimil Hak played outstanding, keeping the Eagles in the game till the very end. He made 41 saves and was named first star of the game.

The lone Powassan goal was scored by Jakub Pejsa and assisted by Jan Smid.

The Eagles are sitting just shy of .500 with a record of 5-7-0 through the first quarter of the season.

Powassan embarks on a busy week ahead, playing three games. Next Thursday the Eagles will be in Alliston to play the expansion Coyotes. This is followed by a home game on Saturday (Oct. 26) versus the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks, puck drop is 7:30PM. On Sunday, Powassan will be in Toronto to play the Predators.
