Powassan Ends 2013-14 Campaign

Feb 23, 2013

The Powassan Eagles have ended another successful season in the GMHL. Yesterday evening, the Eagles fell to the hands of the second place Temiscaming Titans in the first round of the Russell Cup Playoffs.

The development season has placed a great building block for the organization moving forward. Standout rookie Pierre-Oliver Gauvreau ended the season as the club's point leader. His 41 points (16g, 25a) in only 37 games as a 17 year old has him touted as one of the up-and-coming stars of the GMHL. Czech import Jan Smid also wrapped up a strong season with 36 points in 29 games. The 18 year old will also be a strong point moving forward for the organization.

Powassan has many exciting events upcoming this off-season. Some of which include the 2014 GMHL Entry Draft and some very exciting player advancements to announce.

The organization would like to thank everyone involved in making this season a great one. Fans, volunteers, billet families, staff and the players. It has been a great season and we are excited to get started on the 2014-15 season!
