The Powassan Eagles picked up a huge win over the Toronto Attack yesterday (Oct. 13) 5-4 OT final. Powassan also played Bobcaygeon on the road Saturday but lost that match 10-6 in a high scoring affair.

Vlastimil Hak led the way against Toronto making an impressive 49 saves enroute to being named first star of the game. The Eagles saw balanced scoring from all parts of the lineup. Kaneko, Gleason, Klempa and Smid all scored in the game with Patrick O’Grady scoring the shootout winter.

Bobcaygeon got the best of Powassan on Saturday. Buck forward Jeremy Gillespie had nine points against the Eagles. Jan Smid had a hatrick for the Eagles while Kaneko, Gauvreau and Rainey each scored once. The final was 10-6 for the Bucks.

Powassan has a big week upcoming with a game against the Bradford Bulls. The Bulls are a top contender for this year’s Russell Cup from the South. The game takes place next Saturday, October 19th at home with a 7:30PM puck drop.
